Chief Business Officer (CBO) at Dehesa Elementary School District Print Application Deadline Until Filled Date Posted 6/29/2026 Contact Bradley Johnson Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay Range $165,000 - $185,000 Annually Length of Work Year 244 Days Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary Dehesa School District is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and visionary Chief Business Officer to join our executive leadership team. This cabinet-level position provides an outstanding opportunity to help shape the future of an innovative, student-centered school district through strategic financial leadership, operational excellence, and collaborative decision-making. Working directly with the Superintendent, the Chief Business Officer serves as a key advisor to the Superintendent and Board of Trustees while overseeing the District's business services and operational departments. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, strong communicator, and collaborative leader who is committed to fiscal stewardship and organizational excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Finance and Budget Development
  • Purchasing and Contracts
  • Facilities Planning and Construction
  • Maintenance & Operations
  • Transportation
  • Nutrition Services
  • Risk Management
  • Lead long-range financial planning and budget development.
  • Advise the Superintendent and Board of Trustees on fiscal, operational, and facilities matters.
  • Support charter school oversight, including financial review and operational collaboration. Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of successful California school business management experience.
  • California school business certification (CASBO CBO Certification or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.
