at Robert Half in Rosemont, Illinois, United States Job Description Description We are looking for a Business Analyst to support cross-functional initiatives and translate business needs into clear, actionable deliverables. This Long-term Contract position is based in Rosemont, Illinois, and offers the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders, delivery teams, and operational partners in an Agile or hybrid environment. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical thinking, effective communication skills, and experience managing requirements and priorities across evolving business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and refine business needs by partnering with stakeholders to define clear functional and process requirements.
• Maintain and prioritize the work backlog, ensuring items are well-defined, aligned to business goals, and ready for delivery teams.
• Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams to support shared understanding, timely decisions, and effective execution.
• Create and update documentation such as user stories, process flows, gap analyses, and requirement summaries to support project delivery.
• Participate in Agile or hybrid delivery ceremonies, helping drive progress, clarify scope, and address open questions throughout the lifecycle.
• Review existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen documentation quality, and reduce operational gaps.
• Support initiatives related to financial crime, compliance, or transaction monitoring when applicable, including analysis of business processes and platform needs.
• Use Jira or comparable tools to track requirements, manage tasks, and provide visibility into project status and outstanding actions. Requirements
• At least 3 years of experience in a Business Analyst role.
• Demonstrated success gathering requirements and managing backlogs for business or technology initiatives.
• Hands-on familiarity with Jira or a similar work management platform.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across stakeholder groups.
• Experience operating within Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project delivery models.
• Solid business analysis capabilities, including documentation review, process evaluation, and gap analysis.
• Background in financial services is preferred.
• Exposure to anti-money laundering, financial crime programs, transaction monitoring, or related compliance platforms is an advantage.
