at Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology in Springfield, Illinois, United States Job Description Essential Functions Under administrative direction, serves as a Business Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal (OSFM), performing complex professional and advisory functions. Participates in design, testing, training, knowledge transfer, system tuning, and system implementation to translate and track results of business analysis through entire system development life cycle (SDLC). Conducts systems analysis, codes applications, and coordinates development efforts with other IT staff. Analyzes and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve requirements gathering, articulation, process and data modeling, testing and documentation process. Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures. Attends demonstrations and exhibitions related to assigned operations. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above. Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years college with course work in computer science or directly related fields. Requires three (3) years of professional experience in Applications Services or a related Information Services field.
