Job Description

Description The Director, Business Planning, Project Management & Strategic Analysis will manage forward thinking cross functional projects/programs to standardize operations and will shape the organization's use of advanced analytical technologies and capabilities to optimize the operational efficiency of our organization. This individual will work in collaboration with senior business leaders to mobilize the implementation of standard solutions and to ensure compliance to processes and procedures. This individual will also manage start-up implementation projects and support the development of standard processes and controls in collaboration with key contributors.
Essential Duties:
Direct the coordination and management of resources and resource allocations for multiple ongoing complex projects including planning, analysis, reporting, and monitoring of performance results and financial impact Lead communication with senior leadership team on status of each strategic initiative Identify and direct the implementation of process improvements that improve quality and efficiency across the network Enhance organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management Analyze strategic plans to validate if outcomes of projects/programs will meet the business needs and align/support operational plans/objectives Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to collaborate on strategic business analytics projects across all business units Provide cross-functional strategic and tactical support Define plan to govern compliance throughout all business units Mobilize cross-functional collaboration to ensure compliance to corporate strategy Define platform for analyses and determine opportunities for system integration Design and implement scalable business analytics solutions and processes Educate others in the need to treat data as an asset and to use data to responsibly make informed decisions on future action planning Identify opportunities to continuously improve including tracking downtime results, improving data integrity and developing operational improvement plans based on data Drive analytics innovation and thought leadership by anticipating and responding to changing business needs and translating relevant insights into solutions that create value Perform ad-hoc analyses to help drive projects and key business initiatives forward Establish standard work practices to ensure consistency in reporting and analytics solutions across multiple divisions/business units Motivate and lead a high-performance team by attracting, developing, engaging and retaining qualified, analytical leaders Drive the performance management and compensation processes by communicating job expectations, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing feedback and facilitating employee development per the company's policies Drive continuous improvement to improve costs, quality, and service quantitatively and qualitatively Maintain transparent communication by appropriately communicating organization information to the team through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, appropriate email, IM and regular interpersonal communications Lead and motivate individuals and teams to create a workplace culture that is consistent with the NELLC mission, vision and values Support safety as a top priority - in training, job design, and project planning Develop and manage standard start-up implementation processes to ensure successful launches of new business Collaborate with key contributors to monitor execution to plan in start-up projects Qualifications Bachelor's Degree 7 years' work experience in business intelligence, analytics and data engineering, or similar functions Experience in relational and dimensional datasets, data warehousing, and ETL techniques to deliver Bl solutions in a business environment with large-scale complex datasets Proven analytical skills with the ability to use data to back up assumptions and develop business cases Strong interpersonal & communication skills, including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists Ability to thrive in an unstructured role and literate with continuous improvements Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Knowledge of data/information structures, modelling, and data management. Advanced knowledge of SQL, Power Bl and Excel or relevant equivalent options Experience partnering with business owners directly to understand requirements and advise on the analytical method needed to solve the problem
