  • 40000 Division Brief Summary of Work for this Position The Business Officer reports to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Health and Wellbeing (AVCSHW) and assists with oversight of the business, financial and HR functions for the division of Student Affairs.
This position also supports and works closely with the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Resource Administration. Primary areas of responsibility include financial management, personnel administration, payroll, purchasing, inventory control, facility coordination and planning, and IT assessment of various departments. This position is responsible for training and oversight of standard business practices, policy implementation and organization of work. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related business area and two years of administrative management or business management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Familiarity with Banner or a similar software system is a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft office products. Experience with University policies and procedures. Ability to perform analysis of financial data and processes. Ability to take initiative, problem solve, and meet deadlines with accurate data and information. Knowledge of budget development and maintenance. Acute attention to details, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work. Ability to work with internal and external customers to resolve discrepancies or answer questions. Required Certifications or Licensures Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit The Division of Student Affairs consists of 15 functional departments, each of which is responsible for providing a variety of student support, service, and educational programs which are accessible to all members of the university community. Student Affairs provides excellent delivery of student services that are responsive to student needs and promotes the quality of life and education both inside and outside the classroom. The sub-unit includes 20 funds representing over $19.1 million dollars and includes 74 permanent, 20 temporary staff, and also includes graduate students, student workers, and work study student workers.
