What You'll Do:
The Business Certification Officer 2 reviews and decisions state certification program applications in accordance with program rules, policies, and state guidelines. Assists colleagues by providing input on application decisions. Manages client interactions and escalations with clarity and professionalism. Communicates final decisions to leadership and provides state requirement support. Coordinates with leadership to resolve complex cases and provides continuous improvement feedback to our certification programs. Some of the
Job Duties:
Certification and Eligibility Review
  • Reviews MBE, EDGE, VFBE and WBE applications, recertification applications & cross certification applications. Conducts application interviews and verifies business structure to decision certification eligibility in accordance with program rules and state guidelines. Complex Application Review and Case Resolution
  • Leads high-level certification reviews involving complex ownership structures, ensuring eligibility decisions are legally sound and consistent with program and state guidelines. Team Support and Mentorship
  • Assists and mentors Business Certification Officer 1s, provides input on application decisions, and collaborates with leadership to uphold quality across the Office of Certifications. Escalation and Client Communication
  • Manages complex or escalated client interactions with clarity and professionalism. Communicates final decisions to leadership with program and state requirement support. Process Coordination and Policy Input
  • Coordinate with leadership to resolve cases and provide feedback to support continuous improvement and consistency in interpretation of program and state rules. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Are:
18 months training or 18 months experience in interviewing; 18 months training or 18 months experience in application of EEO and affirmative action laws, regulations and procedures to include WBE, MBE, EDGE and/or VFBE; 12 months training or 12 months experience in public relations or in responding to telephone, in-person and written inquires and contacts to achieve desired action (e.g., resolution of complaints; providing technical assistance/information; compliance); 12 months training or 12 months experience in accounting or other fiscal related area. Supplemental Information This position requires you to work in the office Monday-Friday with flexibility in starting and ending times.
