The Business Information System Support Analyst is the primary point of contact forstaff seeking technical assistance with the Business Information Systems (BIS), currently the Tyler-Munis system used by the Human Resources department (HR) and the Business Office (BO). The Support Analyst provides additional support by preparing and performing data analysis from across the multiple data systems located throughout the district. Full job description below.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree preferred; or equivalent knowledge and experience; or related vocational training or certification program. 2 - 4 years related professional experience Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access Experience working with, manipulating and data mining large sets of data files. Experience supporting systems with a broad range user base. A general understanding of and some experience web reporting tools such as Cognos, SQL Reporting, Crystal Reports relational database systems and concepts web based systems, html, and other web languagesESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
End User Support/Training:
Provide support to end users on a variety of user and system issues. Readily available to users requiring technical assistance. Documents, tracks, and monitors the problem to ensure timely resolution. Maintains records of daily communications, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities. Plans, writes, and maintains user support documentation. Responds to questions from callers and walk-ins; remotely assists staff with technology problems in offices, classrooms and in person with problems. Develops training materials and procedures, and/or train users in the proper use of software and hardware. Provides small to large user group training. Educates, informs, and demonstrates the Acceptable User Policy and other related District policies. Becomes familiar with help resources, stays up to date on District technology changes and/or initiatives. Participates in vendor user groups and other professional skill building events. Reads technical manuals, confers with users, and conducts computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems and to provide technical assistance and support. Becomes familiar with procedures, services, and staff in supported departments. Works discreetly and cautiously with confidential data to ensure a high level of data security. Works closely with other analysts to aid with other areas of the department.Data Processing Support:
Assists in the evaluation, development, and implementation of business intelligence systems to facilitate workflow, for the collection of data, and for the enhancement of data driven decision making. Provides data support for mass loading and unloading of data for various business processes. Works to ensure that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities. Translates business specifications into user documentation.Report Writing and Data Analysis:
Uses report writing software to develop custom reports which pull data from various sources. Works with project and business leaders to identify analytical requirements. Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining.State & Federal Reporting and Analysis:
Responsible for all applicable mandated state reporting for the HR and Business Offices. Works closely with student analyst to ensure data continuity between all district systems for State reporting.Systems Support & Other:
Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business systems to help identify user needs. Identifies data courses, constructs data decomposition diagrams, provides data flow diagrams, and documents data and business processes. Prepares and /or maintains documentation pertaining to programming, systems operation, and user documentation. Sets up information systems for employee users, performing or ensuring proper installation of operating systems and appropriate software. Installs and performs minor repairs to software following design or installation specifications. Assists with database support function, including, but not limited to, backing up and restoring files, cleaning log files, expanding schemas, or documenting database changes. Maintains user security roles and settings. Maintains Legacy and other Systems as appropriate. Performs other duties as assigned by his/her supervisor.OTHER DUTIES

This is a full-time, 261-day calendar position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Hours of work are based on the location assignment and are dependent on the needs of the program. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required as job duties demand.TRAVEL:
