Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Business Analyst for their Portland, OR. location. This role supports operational excellence initiatives by analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, documenting current and future-state workflows, and identifying process improvements. This role also supports data migration, SharePoint compliance, governance, records management, and continuous improvement efforts. This team drives process improvement, business analysis, project support, governance, reporting, document management, and change management to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery across the organization. This position is a one-year renewable contract that includes employee benefits!
Pay Rate:
$56.00 - $60.50/hr. DOE.

Onsite 2x per week. Key Responsibilities for
Business Analyst:
Lead continuous improvement initiatives by facilitating process analysis, root cause analysis, gap assessments, and organizational change efforts. Develop strategic recommendations that align with business objectives.
Facilitate stakeholder workshops to document and optimize current and future-state business processes, workflows, value streams, and capabilities.
Gather, analyze, and validate business and user requirements through interviews, research, and collaboration. Evaluate solution options and present recommendations to leadership.
Manage the full requirements lifecycle, including elicitation, documentation, validation, traceability, and stakeholder approval. Develop process maps, user stories, use cases, business rules, and functional requirements.
Create and maintain clear documentation, procedures, and training materials that support operational consistency, knowledge transfer, and business continuity.
Partner with business and technical teams to translate requirements into practical solutions, evaluate tradeoffs, mitigate risks, and support implementation, testing, and quality assurance.
Develop metrics, dashboards, reports, and process documentation to measure performance and support informed decision-making.
Support project planning by developing project documentation, timelines, requirements, process diagrams, change management materials, and stakeholder communications.
Build strong relationships across cross-functional teams, facilitate consensus, manage changing priorities, and communicate project status effectively.
Ensure compliance with records management, information governance, document control, and information security standards through accurate documentation and record maintenance.
Requirements for
Business Analyst:
BA in Computer/Information Technology, Business Systems, or a related technical field preferred.
BA:
8+ years of relevant experience,
AA:
10+ years of relevant experience, No applicable degree: 12+ years of relevant experience required.
5+ years of experience leading business process improvement and optimization initiatives across multiple business units.
Experience supporting medium-to-large organizational change initiatives.
Skilled in stakeholder facilitation, requirements gathering, and process mapping.
Proficient with Microsoft Visio, MS Project, Excel, and SharePoint.
Strong technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
Experience developing business and system requirements using process modeling techniques.
Experience with RoboHelp. - PREFERRED
Valid U.S. Driver's License and a REAL ID or U.S. Passport. - Required.
