Full Job Description Important:
This is a hybrid, on‑site role in West Trenton, NJ supporting U.S. insurance claims operations . Candidates must have prior claims operations experience (PIP, Workers' Compensation, or General Claims) . This role is not fully remote and is not an IT, data, or software role .
Work Location & Schedule:
This position follows a hybrid work schedule and requires regular on‑site presence at NJM's West Trenton, NJ office. Candidates must be located within a reasonable commuting distance and able to work on‑site to support claims business users, operational initiatives, and process improvement efforts . Role:
NJM Insurance Group is seeking a Business Process Analyst - Claims Operations to join our Medical Claims Services (MCS) team. This role is responsible for analyzing, supporting, and improving claims business processes that directly impact day‑to‑day operations, business continuity, and the successful adoption of process and technology changes. This is a business‑side process role , focused on claims operations , not an IT or data‑only Business Analyst position. The role works closely with claims professionals, operational leaders, and technology partners to ensure processes are documented, stable, and continuously improving. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience within U.S. insurance claims operations and understands how processes function in practice across areas such as Personal Injury Protection (PIP), Workers' Compensation, and/or General Claims . Key Responsibilities:
Business Process Analysis & Improvement Analyze existing claims business processes to identify inefficiencies, breakdowns, and improvement opportunities. Maintain and update process documentation , workflows, and operational procedures. Propose and support implementation of practical process improvements aligned to claims operations. Assist with prioritization and execution of approved business process enhancements. Operational & Production Support Provide consistent process and operational support to claims business users. Monitor, triage, and coordinate resolution of production and operational issues . Partner with technology teams and solution owners to ensure issues are clearly documented, tracked, and resolved. Support business continuity during incidents, process changes, or system updates. Process & Technology Adoption Support the operationalization of new claims processes and technology solutions . Collaborate with business and solution owners to understand and communicate process changes. Assist with change management , rollout planning, and end‑user readiness activities. Support training, communications, and documentation for new or updated claims tools and workflows. Cross‑Functional & Departmental Support Coordinate cross‑functional impacts related to claims process changes. Support departmental activities such as onboarding, communications, compliance tracking, and internal updates. Provide clear observations and recommendations to leadership regarding operational impacts, risks, and opportunities.
Required Qualifications:
Experience analyzing, supporting, or improving insurance claims business processes . Professional experience within U.S. Property & Casualty insurance operations . Working knowledge of PIP, Workers' Compensation, and/or General Claims workflows. Demonstrated experience supporting business users in operational or production environments. Ability to identify root causes of process issues and recommend actionable, business‑focused solutions . Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong ownership mindset with the ability to manage priorities and deliver reliable results.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Experience supporting claims process changes, operational improvements, or system rollouts . Exposure to incident management, production support, or operational triage. Insurance coursework or certifications from The Institutes (e.g., AIC, CPCU). Comfort working in regulated, fast‑paced claims environments .
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid role with a required on‑site presence at NJM's West Trenton, NJ location. On‑site work supports close collaboration with Medical Claims Services, claims operations, and cross‑functional partners . This position is not eligible for fully remote work .
