Role Overview This role focuses on driving business value through data by partnering with cross-functional teams to define requirements, analyze information, and support data-driven decision-making. You'll help translate complex problems into actionable insights while contributing to the development and improvement of data products. What You'll Actually Do Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements and deliver business value Support and influence data product roadmaps aligned to business goals Break down complex problems into clear, actionable requirements and acceptance criteria Query and analyze data to support decision-making, analytics, and solution design Identify trends, patterns, and data quality issues to uncover insights and opportunities Assess data sources, completeness, and gaps to ensure alignment with business needs Contribute to data profiling, anomaly detection, and data quality improvement efforts Help develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata, and data mappings Support backlog creation, refinement, and prioritization Work in an agile environment to deliver iterative, continuous value Communicate insights clearly, influence decisions, and challenge assumptions constructively Handle moderately complex analytical issues, escalating when necessary Mentor junior team members and promote best practices Advocate for data literacy and help stakeholders better leverage data Contribute to team standards, templates, and processes What They're Looking For 2-6 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or a related field Ability to write SQL queries (or equivalent) to extract and analyze data Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and ability to work independently Experience working with modern data environments (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes, or cloud platforms) Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence outcomes You'll Stand Out If You Have Experience With Industry experience in areas such as insurance or financial services Working with modern data tools or platforms (e.g., cloud-based data systems, BI tools) Agile methodologies and iterative delivery environments Leading initiatives or influencing cross-functional teams Promoting data best practices and improving data literacy within an organization Education Bachelor's degree, equivalent experience, or a combination of both Completion of industry-relevant coursework or training programs (e.g., insurance fundamentals) Work Environment This is a hybrid position with in-office collaboration days (approximately 3 days per week). The role can be based in the Midwest region. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: ~$86,000
