ROLE SUMMARY
The Salesforce Business Analyst will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams to define, document, prioritize, and deliver scalable Salesforce CRM solutions. This role will partner with Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Operations, Finance, IT, and external implementation partners to analyze business processes, gather requirements, translate needs into Salesforce user stories, support configuration and integration design, and ensure successful adoption of Salesforce capabilities across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis skills, hands-on Salesforce platform knowledge, excellent communication, and practical experience supporting CRM transformation, process improvement, reporting, data quality, and system enhancement initiatives. Position Objectives Understand current-state business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, user experience, and data quality within Salesforce. Capture business requirements and convert them into clear functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and solution documentation. Support Salesforce roadmap planning by helping prioritize enhancements based on business value, effort, risk, dependencies, and operational impact. Work with administrators, developers, architects, QA, data teams, and integration teams to deliver solutions that are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with Salesforce best practices. Enable adoption through user training, change management support, release communications, and post-production support. Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis and Requirements Management Partner with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, validate, and document business needs across lead-to-cash, service-to-resolution, customer onboarding, order management, reporting, and related CRM processes. Facilitate workshops, interviews, discovery sessions, and process walkthroughs to understand pain points, business rules, user roles, handoffs, and data dependencies. Create business requirements documents, functional requirements, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, decision logs, and traceability matrices. Translate complex business needs into actionable Salesforce requirements for configuration, automation, data model changes, reporting, integrations, and custom development. Identify gaps between current Salesforce capabilities and desired business outcomes; recommend practical solutions or phased delivery options. Salesforce Functional Design and Solution Support Collaborate with Salesforce Administrators, Developers, Technical Architects, and Product Owners to design solutions using standard Salesforce functionality wherever possible. Support configuration design for objects, fields, page layouts, record types, validation rules, flows, approval processes, permission sets, reports, dashboards, and Lightning pages. Participate in integration discussions with ERP, marketing automation, customer portals, data warehouses, middleware, EDI, and third-party applications. Document solution designs, data mappings, field definitions, workflow logic, security considerations, and process impacts. Assess downstream impacts of proposed changes on data quality, reporting, integrations, automation, user roles, and existing business processes. Agile Delivery and Project Execution Support Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning. Maintain and prioritize product backlog items in partnership with business owners and technical teams. Clarify requirements for developers and QA teams during sprint execution and assist with issue resolution. Coordinate dependencies, risks, assumptions, and open questions across business and technical stakeholders. Help ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities. Testing, Validation, and Release Support Develop test scenarios and support QA/UAT planning for Salesforce enhancements, integrations, reports, dashboards, and automation changes. Coordinate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders, document defects, validate fixes, and obtain sign-off. Review release notes and deployment plans to ensure business readiness and traceability to approved requirements. Support post-deployment validation and hypercare activities to confirm expected business outcomes. Track issues, enhancement requests, and production support trends to identify root causes and continuous improvement opportunities. Reporting, Data, and Process Improvement Partner with business teams to define KPIs, reporting needs, dashboards, data definitions, and governance expectations. Analyze Salesforce data quality issues such as duplicates, missing values, inconsistent picklists, inactive records, incorrect ownership, and process compliance gaps. Support data migration, data cleansing, deduplication, mapping, validation, and reconciliation activities. Create or support documentation for business processes, standard operating procedures, system usage guidelines, and data governance rules. Recommend improvements to streamline user workflows, reduce manual work, improve reporting reliability, and increase Salesforce adoption. Training, Adoption, and Stakeholder Communication Prepare training materials, quick reference guides, process documentation, and release communications for Salesforce users. Conduct user training sessions and support change management activities for new features and process changes. Communicate project status, requirements decisions, risks, and dependencies in a clear and professional manner. Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders by explaining Salesforce capabilities, constraints, trade-offs, and delivery options. Promote consistent use of Salesforce and help drive adoption of CRM best practices. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Salesforce Business Analyst, CRM Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role. 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting Salesforce projects, enhancements, implementations, integrations, or managed services. Experience documenting requirements, business process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and functional specifications. Experience working with Salesforce administrators, developers, architects, QA analysts, and business stakeholders. Strong understanding of CRM business processes such as lead management, account/contact management, opportunity management, case management, customer onboarding, and reporting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Visio, Lucidchart, Miro, Confluence, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar documentation and project tools. Preferred Qualifications Salesforce Certified Business Analyst certification. Salesforce Administrator certification or equivalent hands-on platform knowledge. Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, CPQ, Field Service, Marketing Cloud, Account Engagement, MuleSoft, or Data Cloud. Experience supporting Salesforce integrations with ERP systems, middleware, data warehouses, EDI platforms, customer portals, or third-party applications. Experience with data migration, master data management, data governance, duplicate management, and reporting strategy. Experience in manufacturing, distribution, automotive, retail, healthcare, financial services, technology, or B2B environments. Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps/release tools such as Change Sets, Gearset, Copado, AutoRABIT, or CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of security and compliance practices related to user access, role hierarchy, permission sets, audit trails, and data privacy. Data quality, reporting accuracy, process consistency, and operational efficiency improve over time. Stakeholders receive timely communication regarding scope, decisions, risks, dependencies, and release readiness.
