Description The Business Analyst I serves as a detail-oriented liaison within the City Bank IT organization, partnering with business units, risk and compliance stakeholders, and technical delivery teams to enable secure, reliable, and compliant technology solutions. This role focuses on analyzing banking operations, financial workflows, and regulatory-driven processes to identify inefficiencies, mitigate risk, and translate business needs into clear, actionable functional requirements. The individual will support initiatives across core banking systems, digital channels, data platforms, and supporting enterprise applications, ensuring solutions align with regulatory expectations, information security standards, and operational controls. By conducting impact analyses, mapping current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") state processes, and supporting technology adoption, the Business Analyst I helps drive measurable improvements in efficiency, customer experience, and system reliability. This role requires a self-starter who can bridge business and IT perspectives, simplify complex change for City Bank stakeholders, and contribute to successful project delivery from concept through implementation-while maintaining a strong focus on compliance, data integrity, and audit readiness. Essential Duties
- Partner with City Bank business units, risk, compliance, and stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements that support secure, compliant technology solutions.
- Analyze banking operations, financial workflows, and regulatory-driven processes to identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and opportunities for improvement or automation.
- Document and maintain clear process models, including current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") workflows, ensuring alignment with City Bank policies, regulatory expectations, and internal controls.
- Translate business needs into well-defined functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases to support Agile or hybrid delivery teams.
- Support initiatives across core banking platforms, digital channels, data and reporting systems, and supporting enterprise applications.
- Conduct impact assessments for system and process changes, including downstream effects to users, data integrity, controls, reporting, and operational workflows.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Project Managers, and technical teams to assist with requirement prioritization, backlog refinement, scope clarification, and dependency tracking.
- Review solution designs and technical documentation to ensure alignment with approved business requirements and City Bank IT standards.
- Support testing and validation activities by reviewing test scenarios, validating outcomes, and confirming solutions meet business, compliance, and audit expectations prior to deployment.
- Assist with change management activities, including stakeholder communications, training materials, job aids, and operational readiness support.
- Monitor post-implementation results, gather stakeholder feedback, and identify enhancement opportunities to improve system performance and user experience.
- Support reporting and metrics efforts by assisting in the definition of KPIs and success measures tied to business and operational outcomes.
- Ensure requirements, documentation, and deliverables support audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and internal governance requirements.
- Provide ongoing project support through status reporting, issue tracking, and coordination with delivery teams as needed.
