This position is loced in the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Administrion, Office of the Chief Administrive Officer (OCAO), Office of Emergency Management and Physical Security (OEMPS) situed in a HUD Emergency Operions Center (HEOC). As an Emergency Management Specialist (Wch Officer) , you will: The incumbent serves as an HEOC Wch Officer for shift opering on an 8 hours per day, 5 days per week basis. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring and assessing key domestic and overseas events, developments, and other mters of HUD interests, while performing and supervising the assembly and disseminion of reports. Monitors the actions of other Federal agencies during events through the interagency coordinion process (primarily conference calls). Plans, schedules, and carries out projects reled to the evaluion of the assigned HEOC. Provides recommendions based on project evaluion to the Director of Emergency Management and Physical Security as to how situions should be handled and/or maintained. Performs in emergency response roles within the HEOC such as providing command and control, alert notificion, decision support, common opering picture construction, or others as required during incident response involving HUD facilities.
