Purchasing Coordinator

Reviews and processes paper and electronic requests of all supplies and equipment at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements. Interviews and negotiates purchasing agreements and maintains current records on service and maintenance and purchasing contracts. Assists other departments with the preparation of their capital budgets. Prepares cost analysis on supplies and services.
Purchases approved supplies and equipment for the hospital.
Maintains purchase and service and maintenance agreements.
Obtains vendor proposals and performs cost comparisons.
Assists other departments with purchasing needs.
Performs data entry and routine clerical duties.
Manages inventory.
Answers telephone and routes call to appropriate person.
HS Diploma or GED is reqired.
Demonstrated ability with data entry on a personal computer with some Windows application experience preferred.
Prefer 1-2 years of progressive experience in a hospital purchasing related environment or exposure to the purchasing of supplies and equipment.
