7:30 AM•3:30 PM (AZ Time) Onsite, Full Time Type Full-time, Ongoing W2, Contract•24 Months New Role & Possible Extensions Pay Rate $41.00/hour Benefits Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Life, Disability, 2 Weeks of PTO, Paid Sick Leave, Holidays Off but Unpaid Summary Our client is seeking a Buyer / Purchasing 5 to support procurement activities for new technology development within a large manufacturing and engineering environment. This role is ideal for a senior-level purchasing or procurement professional with a strong technical background who can partner closely with engineering teams and suppliers. The Buyer will support complex sourcing initiatives, supplier coordination, and procurement activities tied to long-term product development programs. This is a long-term opportunity offering exposure to advanced engineering programs, supplier collaboration, and strategic purchasing initiatives within an enterprise environment. Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Procurement Support Support engineering and suppliers to design manufacturable components Follow up with suppliers on RFQs and sourcing activities Assist with procurement efforts related to new product and technology development Translate engineering requirements into purchasing and sourcing actions Support supplier engagement through meetings, communications, and site visits as needed Supplier & Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with engineering, supplier development, and procurement teams Collaborate with suppliers to support project schedules and deliverables Participate in cross-functional discussions to support purchasing and sourcing decisions Maintain strong internal and external communication across stakeholders Project Coordination & Analysis Manage multiple sourcing activities and project milestones simultaneously Support cost analysis, value engineering, and total cost considerations Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation Track purchasing activities to ensure alignment with project timelines and objectives Perform additional purchasing and procurement duties as assigned Required Education & Experience Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field Master's degree accepted in lieu of some experience 10+ years of relevant experience, or 5-7 years of experience with a Master's degree Internship experience does not count toward the required years Required Skills & Qualifications Demonstrated experience in a purchasing or procurement role within a manufacturing environment Strong project management and organizational skills Technical background with ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D CAD models Experience working with suppliers and supporting sourcing activities Data-driven mindset with strong analytical skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Comfortable working onsite and collaborating cross-functionally Additional Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering disciplines Familiarity with quality and advanced product planning processes Supplier relationship management experience Willingness to relocate to or work long-term in the Tucson, AZ area #LI-JH1
