Description Our client in the Benicia, California area is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Buyer for a contract-to-permanent opportunity. This role will support purchasing and supply chain operations through purchase order management, inventory and demand analysis, vendor coordination, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement or supply chain functions and be comfortable using data to support purchasing decisions and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Create, issue, and manage purchase orders for materials, products, and services Track open orders and follow up with vendors on lead times, delivery status, pricing, and shortages Analyze purchasing trends, inventory levels, and usage data to support replenishment planning Monitor inventory and help identify risks related to stockouts, excess inventory, or supply delays Support vendor performance tracking related to pricing, quality, and on-time delivery Partner with operations, warehouse, production, and accounting teams to align purchasing activity with business needs Maintain accurate purchasing records, item data, and vendor information in ERP or procurement systems Assist with reporting, forecasting support, and continuous improvement efforts across purchasing and supply chain processes Research sourcing options and support cost-effective purchasing decisions Help resolve purchasing discrepancies and supply issues in a timely manner Requirements 2+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory, or related operations support Experience creating and managing purchase orders and monitoring vendor deliveries Strong analytical skills with the ability to review inventory, purchasing, or operational data Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP or inventory management systems Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and cross-functional internal teams Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
