Job Description

Position Summary SOI Aviation is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented U.S. Government Procurement Specialist (Level I) to support the quoting and procurement of aircraft parts and components in response to U.S. Government Request for Quotations (RFQs). This entry-level position works closely with the Operations Manager, CEO to learn and execute government procurement processes in compliance with applicable federal regulations. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn government contracting processes, and comfortable working in a fast-paced aviation and defense supply environment. Prior military experience, particularly with the U.S. Air Force, is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities RFQ Quoting & Bid Preparation Review and interpret U.S. Government RFQs received through procurement portals such as DLA DIBBS, SAM.gov, and
PIEE/WAWF
Prepare and submit accurate, compliant price quotes in response to government RFQs under the supervision of the U.S. Government Contracts Specialist Obtain supplier pricing, availability, and lead times to support quote preparation Ensure all quotations meet applicable
FAR/DFARS
requirements and company pricing procedures Track open RFQs and submitted quotes to ensure timely follow-up and response deadlines are met Assist in maintaining quote logs and historical pricing data for reference and reporting Supplier & Procurement Coordination Assist in evaluating quotes from suppliers based on price, lead time, quality, and regulatory compliance Government Portal Navigation Navigate and utilize government procurement platforms including DLA DIBBS, SAM.gov, and
PIEE/WAWF
to monitor active RFQs and solicitations Learn how to maintain accurate and up-to-date company registrations and profiles on required government portals Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate procurement records in our Pentagon system, quote files, vendor documentation, and correspondence Support the U.S. Government Contracts Specialist in documentation reviews and compliance tracking Help maintain organized contract and procurement files in accordance with company recordkeeping standards Assist in tracking vendor certifications and supplier qualification documentation Cross-Functional & Administrative Support Work closely with the U.S. Government Contracts Specialist on day-to-day procurement and quoting activities Support process improvement efforts within the quoting and procurement workflow Participate in training and professional development activities related to government contracting Qualifications Prior U.S. military experience strongly preferred, ideally U.S. Air Force; veterans, inactive reserve, and retired military personnel encouraged to apply 0-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, contracting, or a related field; government or defense experience a plus Basic familiarity with or willingness to learn FAR/DFARS and government procurement processes Exposure to government procurement portals (SAM.gov, DLA
DIBBS, PIEE/WAWF
) preferred but not required Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP or procurement systems a plus Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive contract and pricing information professionally Preferred Experience Aviation, aerospace, or defense industry background preferred but not required Experience with aircraft parts identification, NSNs, or military supply systems Prior exposure to quoting preferred but willing to teach the right person Familiarity with supply chain, logistics, or inventory management Knowledge of export compliance basics (ITAR/EAR) preferred or willingness to learn
Pay:
$24.00 - $30.00 per hour
