JobsRUs.com is seeking to hire a Buyer for our client in City of Industry! Benefits Available! Weekly Pay! $46.48/
Hour Shift:
Mon-Fri (8 hour days flexible start time between 7:30 to 8:30) Under the direction of the Senior Buyer and Production Control Manager, the junior buyer will purchase material from approved suppliers at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, delivery and other factors Coordinates delivery and quality activities involved with the procurement of material and scrap sales Manage the administrative activities associated with material procurement by following established procedures and guidelines Activities include (but are not limited to) checking supplier approval, preparing POs, receiving material, ensuring material specifications are met, updating the MRP system, retention of mill certifications and specifications Under the direction of the Senior Buyer and Production Control Manager, manage the administrative activities associated with inter-group sales of excess materials Maintain thorough communication with internal customers (Shipping, Sales, Quality departments) to provide information and assist with requests Request material quotes from approved suppliers, determine most cost effective and favorable terms and place orders ensuring compliance with vendor LTAs Using the MRP system and materials planning spreadsheets, identify shortages or where there is negative delta of materials ensuring sufficient product is purchased to support the plant schedule Manage the supplier reviews process maintaining performance and corrective action information Manage the administrative activities associated with scrap sales Activities include (but are not limited to) preparing scrap lists, sending lists out for bid, coordinating deliveries, and retention of scrap bids and sales
Skills/Knowledge:
High School Diploma or Equivalent; and 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos Ability to write simple correspondence Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations Working knowledge and demonstrated use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and MRP systems
