Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts (Flexible start time between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM)

Onsite Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner to support purchasing, materials planning, and supplier management activities within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for procuring materials from approved suppliers, managing inventory requirements, monitoring supplier performance, and ensuring material availability to support production schedules. The ideal candidate will have experience with purchasing, MRP systems, inventory planning, supplier coordination, and manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Purchase raw materials, components, and supplies from approved suppliers while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery performance. Prepare and manage purchase orders in accordance with established procurement procedures. Coordinate supplier deliveries and monitor material quality requirements. Verify supplier approvals and ensure compliance with purchasing standards. Receive and process materials while maintaining accurate procurement records. Update and maintain MRP system data related to purchasing and inventory activities. Retain and manage material certifications, specifications, and procurement documentation. Analyze material requirements using MRP systems and planning spreadsheets to identify shortages and support production schedules. Review inventory levels and take proactive action to prevent material shortages. Obtain supplier quotations, evaluate pricing and terms, and place purchase orders in accordance with supplier agreements. Maintain strong communication with Production, Shipping, Sales, and Quality departments regarding material status and requirements. Support supplier performance reviews and maintain corrective action documentation. Coordinate administrative activities related to excess material sales and inventory disposition. Manage scrap sales activities, including preparing scrap lists, soliciting bids, coordinating shipments, and maintaining records. Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing and inventory management. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. 5-7 years of purchasing, procurement, materials planning, inventory control, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience using MRP or ERP systems for purchasing and inventory management. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, and inventory planning. Ability to analyze data, identify material shortages, and support production requirements. Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field. Experience in metals, aerospace, industrial manufacturing, or related production environments. Experience with supplier performance monitoring and corrective action processes. Knowledge of inventory forecasting and materials planning methodologies. Familiarity with material certifications, specifications, and quality documentation.
Pay:
$40.00 - $45.00 per hour
