Role Overview:
Why This Position Matters As a Junior Buyer, you'll be the backbone of procurement operations—ensuring materials, services, and supply chain processes flow seamlessly to support production. Your ability to convert work orders into purchase orders, maintain supplier performance, and ensure on-time delivery directly impacts operational continuity and production success. What You'll Do Day-to-Day You'll manage a variety of procurement and operational tasks, including: Convert work orders into timely purchase orders (POs) to maintain production flow Procure outside services such as coatings, drilling, grinding, transportation, sorting, and maintenance Ensure proper procurement sequence is followed: Requisition PO Receipt Invoice Payment Manage invoice processing and delivery tracking (OTD - On-Time Delivery) Maintain and update procurement data in MRP systems (Oracle preferred; QAD a plus) Evaluate suppliers to ensure best cost, quality, and delivery performance while minimizing risk Request and compare quotes, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance with vendor agreements Identify material shortages using MRP tools and planning spreadsheets Coordinate with internal teams including Planning, Shipping, Quality, Sales, and Receiving Support supplier performance reviews and corrective action tracking Manage administrative procurement tasks such as: Preparing and issuing POs Verifying supplier approvals Ensuring materials meet specifications Retaining certifications and documentation Assist with scrap sales and excess material processes , including bid coordination and documentation Required Qualifications We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in procurement and manufacturing: Manufacturing or fabrication experience (aerospace preferred) Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Oracle preferred) High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard Office tools Understanding of basic accounting principles Ability to manage multiple tasks while ensuring accuracy and compliance Strong communication and coordination skills across internal and external stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Experience with QAD or similar ERP systems Familiarity with supplier management and performance tracking Experience working with operational materials and service procurement Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and optimize decisions Why Join Us? Pay Details:
