We are seeking an experienced Buyer / Planner - Indirect MRO Procurement to join a leading manufacturer of critical medical products used in hospitals nationwide. This is a high-impact temporary opportunity (estimated 6 months) supporting a leave of absence, with potential for extension based on business needs and performance. This role is fully onsite at a GMP-regulated manufacturing plant, making it an ideal fit for professionals with pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech, or regulated manufacturing experience. Strategic Procurement & Sourcing Lead sourcing activities for indirect parts, MRO supplies, services, and equipment
Negotiate pricing, volume discounts, payment terms, contracts, and service agreements
Run RFPs/RFIs, benchmark suppliers, and identify savings opportunities
Develop category strategies that support continuity, growth, and inflation mitigation Supplier & Stakeholder Management Build strong relationships with internal business unit leaders and plant stakeholders
Partner with vendors to improve delivery, quality, and responsiveness
Conduct supplier scorecard reviews and performance meetings
Resolve supplier non-conformance and underperformance issues proactively Planning & Operations Support Execute purchase orders through the Ariba procure-to-pay platform
Support production build plans and forecasts through timely purchasing execution
Manage material flow issues and reduce risk to operations
Drive inventory optimization and cost reduction initiatives What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
5+ years of procurement / purchasing experience
Experience in manufacturing, medical device, pharmaceutical, or GMP-regulated environments
Strong sourcing background in indirect MRO procurement (direct materials also valuable)
Experience with: Spend analysis
RFP / RFI
processes
Supplier negotiations
Contracting
Category management Preferred Qualifications ERP experience (SAP strongly preferred)
Ariba experience highly desired
Supply chain certifications such as CPIM, CPSM, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma Advanced Excel and data analysis
Strong negotiation and influencing ability
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
