Position Summary:
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for managing the procurement and planning of materials, components, and services to support production schedules and customer requirements. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, on-time delivery, and cost-effective sourcing while building and maintaining strong supplier relationships. The Buyer/Planner will collaborate closely with production, engineering, quality, and logistics teams to drive supply chain efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years' of relevant experience in procurement, production planning, or supply chain management required Ability to use Microscope Office (Word, Excel, Access, Email, Internet) Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and supply chain principles APICS/CPIM or related certification a plus Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a team environment Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities Attention to Detail Adaptability in a fast-paced environment Our core values - Accountability , Collaboration , and Empowerment (ACE) - are the foundation of how we operate and drive success. Responsible for monitoring daily, weekly, and monthly delivery schedules against production status to stay ahead of on-time delivery of parts and takes action to meet deliveries Develop and maintain material requirements planning (MRP) schedules to support production and customer demand Reviews open sales orders to determine customer requirements Create, release, and manage purchase orders to suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services Monitor inventory levels, lead times, and safety stock; take corrective action to prevent shortages or excess Completes status reports, production progress, customer information and materials inventory Maintains the professionalism, knowledge, and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness Identify and implement process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency Develop internal written procedures of standard practices fulfilling required position duties Communicate clearly and consistently across the organization in a way that fosters employee engagement at all levels. Collaborate with other apartments to ensure priorities are met Identify knowledge gaps and provide/propose required training to improve performance Focuses on driving safety, quality, and productivity
