Job Description
Our client, a well-established and expanding industry leader, is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support continued growth. In today's market, skilled purchasing professionals play a critical role in driving efficiency, controlling costs, and supporting business growth. What You'll Do Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers Obtain competitive quotes and perform pricing analysis Create, issue, and track purchase orders Monitor inventory levels and forecast purchasing needs Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements Collaborate with operations, accounting, warehouse, and project management teams Resolve purchasing, delivery, and vendor-related issues Key Responsibilities Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms Obtain competitive quotes and conduct pricing analysis Implement and manage purchasing requisition processes Create, issue, and monitor purchase orders Forecast purchasing needs and monitor inventory levels Develop and maintain strong vendor partnerships Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs and improve efficiencies Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures Collaborate with operations, accounting, warehouse, and project management teams Resolve invoice discrepancies, delivery delays, and supply chain issues Communicate delivery schedules, shipment updates, and potential project risks to internal stakeholders What We're Looking For 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Excellent communication and organizational abilities Bachelor's degree preferred Automotive industry experience is a plus Equal Opportunity Employer / Disabled / Protected Veterans The Know Your Rights poster is available here: https://www.eeoc.gov/sites/default/files/2023-06/22-088_EEOC_KnowYourRights6.12.pdf The pay transparency policy is available here: https://www.dol.gov/sites/dolgov/files/ofccp/pdf/pay-transp_%20English_formattedESQA508c.pdf For temporary assignments lasting 13 weeks or longer, AppleOne is pleased to offer major medical, dental, vision, 401k and any statutory sick pay where required.
