Job Description
Construction Procurement SpecialistWestern Regional OfficeRancho Cordova, CADucks Unlimited, Inc., the worlds leading wetland and waterfowl conservation organization, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Procurement Specialist familiar with federal and state funded construction projects based in our Western Regional Office located in Rancho Cordova, California. The position will be part of a larger team of conservation professionals working in Ducks Unlimiteds nine Western Region states.
QualificationsCandidates must have at a minimum: two years of practical experience in construction contract procurement and management, proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word, and basic knowledge of project management concepts. An associate's degree in business administration or a construction-related field is desirable. General qualifications desired include experience with conducting bidding processes, knowledge of construction contracting and public works requirements including prevailing wages, and consultant contracting. Demonstrated oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated, goal-oriented, well- organized, able to manage multiple tasks while pivoting efficiently to highpriority or timesensitive work, and provide exceptional service in close team-based relationships.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work with a team of engineers, biologists, and project coordinators who plan, design, contract, and perform construction management functions on wetland, and associated habitat projects throughout the western states. The specialist position will be responsible for supporting all project-related procurements, including construction, consultant, and material purchase agreements, and provide expertise in procurement compliance and processes.
Specific duties include:
Review of government contracts and grants, specifically for procurement-related complianceAssist with construction project bidding, prepare and QA/QC bid packages, review, develop, and track contracts, change orders, and insurance/bonding requirements, and complete lien releasesAssist with professional service contracts, prepare and
