Powersports•About the Role Our client, a leading manufacturer in the powersports and recreational vehicle industry, is seeking a Buyer to support supply chain operations within a fast-paced production environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and innovation while partnering closely with cross-functional teams and production. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment and is comfortable engaging directly on the factory floor rather than working solely in an office setting. Job Description The Buyer is responsible for managing supplier relationships and sourcing activities to support production and product development initiatives. This position focuses on cost optimization, supplier performance, and ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules. Manage supplier performance related to quality, delivery, cost, and technical capabilities Negotiate pricing and lead cost reduction initiatives across the supply base Conduct make-versus-buy analyses to support sourcing decisions Prepare and issue requests for quotes (RFQs) and evaluate supplier proposals Support product development efforts from concept through production launch Identify and onboard suppliers with advanced technologies or improved capabilities Lead supplier negotiations and resolve performance or delivery issues Coordinate engineering changes and new component releases with suppliers Monitor supplier capacity, lead times, and delivery schedules; expedite as needed Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and operations teams Support tooling expenditure processes through requisition submissions
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, planning, or related supply chain roles Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related technical field desired Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and VLOOKUPs Experience working in or supporting a manufacturing or production environment Comfortable working in a hands-on, collaborative setting, including time on the factory floor Proven ability to negotiate, problem-solve, and manage supplier relationships Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Effective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation and technical data Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, or similar ERP/MRP systems Previous experience in a production or manufacturing-focused organization APICS CPIM and/or
ISM C.P.M./A.P.P.
