Senior Buyer — Medical Devices & Life Sciences (contract) Overview We are partnering with a leading medical device and life sciences manufacturer to hire a Senior Buyer to support a high-performing supply chain team. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role where you will own end-to-end purchasing activities and play a critical role in ensuring material availability for both production and new product development (NPI) . You'll collaborate closely with engineering, R D, and supplier partners in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment where supply chain is central to business success. Key Responsibilities Own end-to-end purchase order execution across key commodities (machined parts, sheet metal, PCAs, electronics) Manage supplier performance, including expediting orders, reducing past-due lines, and improving on-time delivery Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to support sourcing decisions Partner with engineering and R D to support production and new product introduction efforts Maintain accurate ERP data , including pricing, lead times, and supplier records Drive backlog reduction by identifying and resolving supply constraints Coordinate across internal teams and suppliers to manage priorities, delivery commitments, and escalations Support supplier onboarding and ensure compliance with procurement processes and quality standards Participate in cross-functional sourcing decisions , including make vs. buy analysis and NPI support Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain operations Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience as a Buyer/ Senior Buyer with full PO ownership Direct experience sourcing machined parts, sheet metal, PCAs, and/or electronics Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Strong ERP experience (IFS, SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc.) managing POs, supplier data, and past-due lines Proven track record of supplier management, negotiations, and delivery performance improvement Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (medical device, life sciences, aerospace/defense) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, onsite environment Strong collaboration skills working cross-functionally with engineering and operations Preferred Qualifications Experience in medical device or life sciences manufacturing Familiarity with
ISO 9001 / ISO 13485
environments Experience with IFS ERP Exposure to NPI (New Product Introduction) and make vs. buy decisions Strong analytical skills for supplier performance and backlog reduction
