Full Job Description Description:
The Buyer I supports day-to-day purchasing operations by executing purchase orders, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring timely and accurate procurement of materials. This role is responsible for maintaining data accuracy, tracking order status, and resolving routine issues to support production and inventory needs. The Buyer I operates within established processes and works closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure continuity of supply. Responsibilities Execute purchase orders for back-orders, reorders, and general requisitions in accordance with company policies and procedures. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of all purchase orders by managing tickets, tracking progress, and resolving any issues. Monitor all shipments to ensure efficient processing and dispatch, avoiding any holds or delays, and guaranteeing timely delivery. Request quotations, manage pricing databases, and optimize resources to ensure cost-effectiveness in procurement processes. Monitor vendor Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) and ensure timely resolution of issues. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to maintain adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory. Coordinate with accounts payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payment to suppliers. Provide administrative support to the purchasing team, including generating reports, preparing presentations, and assisting with vendor evaluations. Assist in purchasing projects, including updating records, organizing databases, and maintaining vendor folders as needed.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of procurement experience. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Highly organized with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Google Suite is a plus. Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP system is preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain environment Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred). Basic understanding of purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain workflows. Experience working with vendors or managing order fulfillment. Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Demonstrated ability to follow structured processes while identifying and flagging issues.
