Purchasing Agent (Full-Time, Permanent) - Greater New Haven AreaAn established and growing organization in the Greater New Haven area is seeking a Purchasing Agent to support ongoing purchasing and sourcing operations. This individual will play a key role in building and maintaining a dependable supply chain, with a focus on cost efficiency, quality, and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities (Day-to-Day)Identify and source components from both domestic and international suppliersAssess vendors based on cost, quality standards, delivery timelines, and consistencyNegotiate pricing, contract terms, and volume-based agreementsDevelop and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring ongoing performanceTrack and evaluate total landed cost, including tariffs, duties, and freight considerationsCoordinate inbound logistics, including international shipping and customs processesPartner cross-functionally with internal teams to align purchasing with demand forecastsRequired QualificationsDemonstrated experience in purchasing or procurement within a mechanical related industryWorking knowledge of global sourcing, including import/export regulations and international trade practicesFamiliarity with tariffs and cost structures associated with overseas procurementStrong negotiation skills with a focus on cost optimization and valueAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Additional DetailsCompensation:

$70,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience
