Electronic Component Buyer Apopka, FL (on-site) • EMS / Electronics Manufacturing Services About the Role We're an electronics manufacturing services (EMS) company looking for an Electronic Component Buyer to own the sourcing and purchasing of the components that keep our production running. You'll work directly with suppliers, engineering, and production to make sure the right parts arrive on time, at the right price, and at the quality our builds demand. This is a hands-on procurement role in a fast-moving shop where your negotiating and supplier-management skills directly impact our margins and on-time delivery. What You'll Do Source, quote, and purchase electronic components against BOMs for PCBA and EMS production Negotiate pricing, lead times, delivery terms, and payment terms with domestic and international suppliers Evaluate and qualify suppliers on cost, quality, delivery, and compliance Manage purchasing activity through our ERP/MRP system, keeping POs, lead times, and inventory data accurate Work closely with production planning, engineering, and logistics to align purchasing with build schedules and demand Expedite orders and resolve shortages, allocation issues, and supply disruptions before they hit the line Track market pricing, component availability, and lifecycle/EOL risks to protect supply continuity Maintain clean procurement records, supplier scorecards, and pricing history What We're Looking For Minimum 3 years of procurement/purchasing experience in the EMS or electronics manufacturing industry (PCBA, contract manufacturing, or component distribution) Working knowledge of electronic components and BOMs (passives, semiconductors, connectors, etc.) Hands-on experience with an ERP/MRP system (SAP, Oracle, or similar) for purchasing and materials management Strong negotiation skills and a track record of cost savings and supplier relationship management Familiarity with supply chain fundamentals, lead-time management, and freight/customs basics Solid Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) for cost and spend analysis Detail-oriented, organized, and able to juggle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Nice to Have Familiarity with component shortages/allocation cycles and alternate-part sourcing Experience with quality standards (ISO 9001 / AS9100 / IPC) common in EMS Bilingual (English/Portuguese or English/Spanish) a plus
