Procurement & Contracts Specialist -

Pay:
$26/hour (depending on experience)
Job Type:
Temporary (Potential Temp-to-Hire) Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field and 3 years of procurement/contract experience OR Associate degree and 5 years of related experience OR High school diploma/equivalency and 7 years of related experience Experience in procurement, purchasing, contracts, or a related field Strong knowledge of contract development, bidding, and vendor negotiations Ability to interpret laws, regulations, and policies related to procurement Valid driver's license About the Role We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support a government organization with contract development, vendor management, and procurement operations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate regulatory requirements while ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage solicitations (RFQs, bids, RFPs), including pre-bid meetings, addenda, and evaluations Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors Draft, review, and finalize a variety of agreements (purchase, consulting, subcontract, licensing, etc.) Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local procurement laws and policies Evaluate suppliers and monitor product/service quality Collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Risk teams on contract terms and requirements Serve as a resource for staff and stakeholders on procurement processes and regulations Maintain detailed procurement records, reports, and documentation Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements Manage vendor relationships and support procurement card (P-card) administration Preferred Experience Public sector or government procurement experience Experience with contract lifecycle management and compliance Familiarity with procurement systems or ERP platforms Experience leading or supporting bid processes and vendor evaluations Skills & Abilities Strong negotiation and contract management skills Ability to analyze market data and pricing trends Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills High attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Working Conditions Primarily sedentary work with occasional standing, walking, and light lifting Frequent computer use and repetitive motion This is a great opportunity to step into a high-impact procurement role with the potential for long-term placement.
