• Position Overview
• The Procurement Specialist (Buyer)
• supports utility and infrastructure construction projects by executing day-to-day purchasing activities for materials, equipment, and services.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring crews have the materials they need — when they need them — to safely and efficiently build critical power delivery and infrastructure systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated procurement professional with 2-4 years of experience who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. Responsibilities + Source and procure materials for utility construction projects including poles, wire, transformers, conduit, hardware, PPE, and related infrastructure materials + Create and manage purchase orders in accordance with project budgets and schedules + Solicit and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery + Negotiate pricing, freight terms, and delivery schedules within established authority + Track and expedite orders to support active field operations + Partner with Project Managers, Field Supervision, and Warehouse teams to align purchasing with project needs + Monitor material availability and mitigate supply chain risks + Resolve vendor discrepancies related to pricing, invoices, and shipments + Maintain accurate procurement documentation within ERP systems + Support vendor onboarding and compliance requirements + Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements Qualifications

• Education:

• + Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred

• Experience:

• + 2-4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain + Experience supporting construction, utility, infrastructure, or industrial projects strongly preferred
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• + Understanding of construction material procurement processes + Ability to manage multiple purchase requests in a deadline-driven environment + Strong analytical and negotiation skills + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar) + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills + Effective communication skills across field and corporate teams + Ability to work independently while supporting collaborative project teams •Why MasTec Utility Services?
