Job Description

This is an on-site role at our Ft. Pierce, FL facility, no remote applications will be considered.
Job Summary:
The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating and procurement of materials, parts, and supplies necessary for the boat manufacturing process. The role requires close collaboration with production, engineering, finance, and logistics teams to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, ensuring that production targets are met and quality standards are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management:
Identify and evaluate suppliers for boat components, materials, and equipment. Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and other conditions to secure favorable agreements. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and develop new supplier partnerships to improve sourcing strategies.
Inventory Coordination:
Maintain required inventory levels of materials and components to prevent overstocking or shortages. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to meet production schedules. Collaborate with the production team to forecast material needs based on project timelines.
Procurement Process:
Participate in the end-to-end procurement process, from placing orders to receiving and inspecting materials. Ensure that all materials meet quality specifications and safety standards. Handle purchasing documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance records.
Cost Management:
Develop and implement strategies to optimize procurement costs without compromising quality or delivery timelines. Track and report on purchasing expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction. Collaboration with
Production:
Work closely with production planners and engineers to understand material needs and ensure the right materials are available at the right time. Troubleshoot supply chain or material-related issues that may impact production schedules.
Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all purchased materials and components meet the required specifications and industry standards. Coordinate with quality control teams to resolve any discrepancies or quality issues with purchased goods.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies related to procurement and supply chain management. Maintain proper documentation and records of all procurement activities for auditing purposes.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within the manufacturing industry, preferably in boat or marine manufacturing. Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, vendor negotiation, and inventory management. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.). Familiarity wit SAP highly preferred Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong team collaboration abilities. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Knowledge of boat manufacturing materials (such as fiberglass, aluminum, wood, engines, etc.) is a plus. Ability to analyze purchasing data and generate reports to improve procurement efficiency. Familiarity with relevant regulations and quality standards in the boat manufacturing industry is a plus.
Working Conditions:
. Full-time, on-site position with typical office hours, although some flexibility may be required based on project timelines. This is an on-site role at our Ft. Pierce, FL facility, no remote applications will be considered.
