Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Purchasing Agent to support procurement activities within an aerospace manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services required to support production and engineering operations. The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or aerospace setting and is comfortable managing supplier relationships, ERP systems, and complex technical parts procurement. This position plays a key role in ensuring material availability, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery to support production schedules and engineering requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end purchasing activities including sourcing, quoting, negotiating, and issuing purchase orders Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support production and program requirements Source aerospace components, raw materials, and custom parts based on technical specifications and BOM requirements Evaluate suppliers based on pricing, quality, delivery performance, and compliance standards Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and long-term supplier agreements Maintain and update purchase orders, inventory levels, and procurement records within ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar) Monitor material availability and proactively address shortages or delays Expedite orders and resolve supply chain issues to support production timelines Ensure compliance with internal purchasing policies, quality standards, and industry regulations Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve procurement efficiency and cost savings Analyze spend data and support continuous improvement initiatives within supply chain operations Qualifications 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience (aerospace or manufacturing preferred) Strong understanding of ERP systems and purchase order processing Experience working with technical components, engineering drawings, or BOMs Ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and manage vendor relationships Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Preferred Experience Aerospace, defense, electronics, or precision manufacturing environment Familiarity with MRP systems and inventory control processes Experience supporting engineering or production teams with custom part sourcing Key Competencies Supplier Management Cost Analysis & Negotiation Inventory & Material Planning ERP/MRP Systems Production Support Problem Solving & Expediting Attention to Detail Cross-Functional Collaboration #pro123

$70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
