ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are a fast-growing company seeking an experienced International & Domestic Parts Buyer to manage the procurement of automotive restoration parts from domestic and global suppliers, as well as operational materials, supplies, and equipment for our warehouse, office, and facilities. This is a critical role requiring in-depth knowledge of import/export regulations, expertise in international freight logistics, and proven success in strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations. The ideal candidate will excel at navigating complex tariff structures, coordinating international shipments, securing favorable supply terms, and ensuring consistent product quality and on-time delivery, all while maintaining exceptional cost control and cross-functional collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Automotive Parts Procurement
  • Lead the sourcing, negotiation and purchase of automotive parts, materials, and components from domestic and international suppliers
  • Secure the best total cost of ownership by negotiating favorable pricing, payment terms, lead times, and quality standards
  • Oversee all import/export documentation, including HTS codes, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and other trade compliance requirements
  • Coordinate international freight movements via ocean, air, and ground transport, collaborating closely with freight forwarders and customs brokers
  • Ensure adherence to U.
S. Customs regulations, Section 232/301 tariffs, and other trade policies
OPERATIONAL PARTS PROCUREMENT
  • Source, negotiate, and purchase a wide range of operational materials, supplies, and equipment for all internal departments
  • Secure the best total cost of ownership by negotiating competitive pricing, favorable payment terms, and reliable delivery schedules
  • Prepare, process, and track purchase orders; verify order accuracy upon receipt and resolve any discrepancies
  • Maintain detailed purchasing records, vendor databases, and compliance documentation for audits and reporting
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with warehouse/facilities teams to forecast purchasing needs
COMMON RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecast purchasing needs, and proactively manage lead times to prevent stockouts and excess inventory
  • Track landed costs (including duties, tariffs, and freight) to enable accurate product pricing
  • Recommend cost-saving strategies such as supplier consolidation, alternate sourcing, and shipment optimization
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement
  • Resolve supplier quality or delivery issues promptly and professionally
  • Participate in supplier audits, product evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare detailed purchasing and cost reports for executive review
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of hands-on purchasing experience, with at least 3 years focused on global sourcing and international imports
  • Deep expertise in import/export regulations, customs compliance, and international shipping documentation
  • Proficient in HTS codes, tariff structures, and complex trade compliance rules
  • Proven track record of successful negotiations to secure favorable terms and optimize total cost of ownership
  • Adept at using ERP/procurement software and advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities
PREFERRED
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field
  • Automotive industry experience, particularly in the restoration or aftermarket parts segment
  • Specialized knowledge of Section 232/301 tariffs and their impact on global sourcing strategies
  • Familiarity with multiple freight methods
  • Understanding of inventory management principles and best practices
