Role:
Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Procurement Assistant supports HICHC's purchasing operations by assisting with procurement tasks, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies. This role helps departments obtain needed supplies and services efficiently and cost-effectively to support high-quality care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required
  • High school diploma or GED Required
  • 1-2 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in a healthcare setting or FQHC. Required
  • Strong familiarity with medical office, equipment and supplies. Required
  • Valid Hawaiʻi driver's license and reliable transportation required as the position requires frequent travel among clinic sites.
Responsibilities:
Supports procurement and inventory operations by receiving and logging shipments, maintaining inventory across multiple sites, and assisting with supply distribution and restocking. Helps ensure compliance with FQHC procurement policies, supports purchase order processing, vendor communication, and documentation for audits. Also assists with coordinating deliveries, equipment services, and repairs, while performing general administrative and purchasing-related tasks as needed.
Skills:
Basic knowledge of procurement and inventory management with strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with procurement software experience preferred. Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment while effectively multitasking and managing competing priorities.
