Job Overview:
The Purchasing position is responsible for leading purchasing activities, developing and executing sourcing strategies for manufacturing materials, components, and services. This role focuses on supplier selection, cost optimization, contract negotiation, and ensuring supply continuity while maintaining quality and compliance standards. The position works closely with production, engineering, and suppliers to support production goals and long-term business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies aligned with company goals Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers based on cost, quality, capacity, and reliability Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery) Maintain accurate inventory data, setting reorder points to reduce stockouts and excess inventory. Oversee and execute purchase orders, monitoring order status through the supply chain Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements Address quality issues with suppliers and coordinate resolution with affected parties Resolve supplier issues, delays, or quality concerns Requirements for success: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or related field 5+ years of purchasing/procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred Preferred qualifications for success: Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Extreme attention to detail and ability to work with little supervision Manufacturing experience Excellent computer skills: excel, word, power point.
