This is a highly visible role within a smaller company environment where the Buyer will own the full purchasing function-from sourcing and vendor management to inventory planning and procurement analysis. We're looking for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and can operate independently while partnering closely with production, operations, and accounting teams. Key Responsibilities Manage the full purchasing cycle, including sourcing, quoting, negotiating, ordering, and vendor management. Procure raw materials, components, supplies, and services to support production schedules. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities to prevent shortages and minimize excess inventory. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships while negotiating pricing, lead times, and contract terms. Analyze purchasing trends, inventory usage, and supplier performance. Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials. Resolve supplier, pricing, quality, and delivery issues as they arise. Partner with Production, Planning, Operations, and Accounting teams to ensure business needs are met. Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and documentation. Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain efficiencies. Utilize Excel to analyze purchasing data, inventory trends, forecasts, and vendor performance metrics. Qualifications 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and purchasing best practices. Experience sourcing materials and managing supplier relationships. Ability to read and interpret purchasing reports, inventory data, and production requirements. Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Self-starter who can manage competing priorities with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Manufacturing industry experience required. ERP/MRP system experience preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis, and reporting. Experience working in a small to mid-sized company environment where responsibilities extend across multiple functions. What We're Looking For Strong sense of ownership and accountability. Analytical mindset with attention to detail. Ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Comfortable working in a hands-on environment where no two days are the same. Someone who can take ownership of purchasing operations and help support the company's continued growth. If you're a manufacturing Buyer looking for an opportunity to make an impact and own the purchasing function, we'd love to hear from you.
