These roles may be filled as direct hire or temp-to-hire, depending on candidate fit. These are highly visible, hands-on roles in a smaller company environment where each Buyer will own the full purchasing function—from sourcing and vendor management to inventory planning and procurement analysis. The ideal candidate is adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working across multiple functions while partnering closely with Production, Operations, and Accounting.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Own the full purchasing cycle including sourcing, quoting, negotiating, ordering, and vendor management Procure raw materials, components, and services to support production schedules Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory Manage supplier relationships, including pricing, lead times, and contract negotiations Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials Analyze purchasing trends, inventory usage, and supplier performance Resolve issues related to pricing, quality, and delivery Partner with Production, Planning, Operations, and Accounting to meet business needs Maintain accurate purchasing records, reporting, and documentation Identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities Use Excel to analyze purchasing data, inventory trends, and supplier metrics

QUALIFICATIONS

3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of supply chain and inventory management principles Experience managing suppliers and sourcing materials Ability to interpret purchasing, inventory, and production data Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills Self-starter who can manage competing priorities with minimal supervision

PREFERRED

Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred ERP/MRP system experience a plus Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting, analysis) Experience in small to mid-sized company environments with broad responsibilities
