Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for handling the PO generation and related tasks for AVW. Responsible for procuring materials, supplies, and services in alignment with AVW's sourcing strategy. This role is expected to be entirely tactical.
Responsibilities:
Create and issue purchase orders (POs) and track order status and delivery schedules. Execute purchasing activities in alignment with approved suppliers, contracts, and sourcing strategies. Utilize ERP systems to manage purchasing activities and maintain accurate procurement data. Collaborate with production planning to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components. Execute purchasing activities based on demand generated through MRP, production requirements, and operational requests. Support new product introductions and engineering changes through supplier coordination and timely execution of purchasing activities. Participate in the RGA process as it relates to vendor returns. Escalate complex or high-risk issues appropriately. Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent 0-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a high-SKU manufacturing environment. Exposure to ERP systems Solid understanding of mechanical components and industrial commodities. Ability to work within KPI-driven environments and maintain performance expectations. Ability to obtain quotes and support routine transactional negotiations. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
APICS/ASCM
Certification (CPIM, CSCP) or equivalent preferred but not required. Experience with lean manufacturing environments or Just-in-Time (JIT) systems. Exposure to raw material planning and inventory-driven purchasing environments. Exposure to Six Sigma or other continuous improvement initiatives. Exposure to basic cost analysis and total cost of ownership (TCO) concepts.
