The Sourcing Specialist reports to the Senior Sourcing Manager and is responsible for performing analytical and administrative tasks for the Sourcing Group. This role will support sourcing initiatives by using analytical skills to provide accurate data to the procurement team, ensuring informed business decisions. The individual will also collaborate with the sourcing group to provide analysis and support for timely project completion. This position thrives in a fast-paced environment and requires strong multi-tasking ability, a deep sense of urgency, and a high level of commitment to everyday tasks. Additionally, they will take the lead on system maintenance, including quote loads, vendor information, and part information.
Responsibilities Quote Analysis & Comparison:
Obtain quotes and provide accurate and comparable summaries across similar categories for award selection. This includes conducting a competitive analysis on raw material costs, overhead, currency, and detailed price differences.
Data & Research Support:
Perform data analysis and research to identify opportunities and risks for the Sourcing Group. Create and generate custom data sheets as requested by the department.
Trend Tracking:
Track and report on commodities, currencies, procurement trends and metrics.
Sourcing Project Management:
Co-manage assigned sourcing projects with the senior sourcing manager. Manage and update the sourcing project tracker from the initial sample stage all the way to final mass production.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Support the Procurement Group by helping to initiate, track, and analyze vendor quotes and the RFQ process. Work closely with the quality team, engineering team, and vendors to ensure parts are sourced by the requested timeline.
System Maintenance & Onboarding:
Maintain all system data as required, including loading quotes, updating vendor information, managing lead times, and updating MOQs, to successfully onboard new vendors and pull system data as requested.
Contract & Tracker Management:
Manage the contract database to ensure accurate and up-to-date contract information. This includes loading new contracts and managing timelines to ensure the Purchasing team is aware of expiring contracts that may need to be extended or terminated.
Administrative & Data Forms:
Help fill out various corporate data forms, including new vendor onboarding packets, Request for Expenditure (RFE) forms, and Return on Investment (ROI) documents, etc.
Price Management:
Maintain and track price change requests and report the impact of price changes to the senior sourcing manager. Regularly update and maintain the vendor master price sheet to ensure all pricing remains current.
Corporate Office Support:
Provide purchasing support for the corporate office, including creating POs for office supplies and MROs (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations). Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, supply chain management, or a related field, OR equivalent work experience. Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must have a strong sense of urgency, excellent multi-tasking abilities, and a strong commitment to work quality. Must have a good level of Excel skills. This includes the ability to write formulas (such as X-LOOKUP, SUM, multiplication, division, and percentages), build pivot tables, and create visual graphs. Must be a fast learner capable of quickly mastering Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365). Ability to pull custom data from the ERP system as requested. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from various departments, including engineering, quality, customer service, accounting, purchasing, and product management. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and mathematical capabilities. Requires long periods of sedentary work. Requires repetitive upper body movement - keyboarding and monitor use. Visual acuity required
