Job Description

More information about this job Overview The Procurement Specialist is responsible for executing routine procurement functions with direction from the Procurement Manager. Duties to include (but are not limited to) RFQ/RFP creation and solicitation, RFI management, quote/proposal review, purchase orders generation and execution, vendor relationship management, and other duties as assigned. The Procurement Specialist will conduct business in accordance with Cajun Industries' Best Practices and Code of Ethics and be an active participant in the continuous development of the safety culture at Cajun Industries. Responsibilities •The following responsibilities are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class; however, are not all-inclusive for this position: Builds and maintains a working relationship with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing Works with Estimating and Projects teams to build requisitions and solicit quotes Expedites vendor quotes Maintains record of vendor quotes/proposals, and any attachments/supplemental documents, in the appropriate estimating or job folder Reviews quotes and proposals for accuracy and communicates with vendors to resolve any missing or inaccurate data points Compiles data from quotes/proposals within designated Bid Tab/review workbook and reviews with the Procurement Manager prior to estimating/projects turnover or purchase order creation Generates purchase orders and executes in compliance with Cajun and Client standards/requirements Answers RFIs in a timely Identify cost saving opportunities and works within the procurement strategy to reduce costs without compromising quality or delivery schedule Maintains record of quotes, purchase orders, and applicable logs Reviews expediting reports with Expeditors to ensure orders are on time and reports any delays to the appropriate stakeholders Attends and participates in meetings as assigned Other duties as assigned Qualifications Experience Minimum of one year of work experience required with experience in expediting, procurement, or business administration duties preferred Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) Education High School Diploma (or equivalent) required Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited college or university is preferred Physical Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds Regularly required to talk or hear Frequently required to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms Subject to repetitive use of hands/arms Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, use hands and fingers to handle and feel Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus Will need to be able to perform sedentary work Mental Must have the ability to direct others and communicate effectively with other management/ supervision Talking and reading & writing comprehension is necessary for giving and receiving directions to perform work and/or safety policy Ability to use math/complete calculations Must be able to concentrate amid distractions and remember details Ability to use computer, keyboard, telephone and other office devices
