ABOUT THE RO
LEJoin a well-established manufacturer known for its strong company culture and long employee tenure. As a Buyer at our Kenner facility, you will lead complex procurement and strategic sourcing activities that directly support production, engineering, and operations. This role carries a high level of autonomy - you will own supplier relationships, drive cost savings, and shape long-term supply chain strateg y.
WHAT YOU'LL
DOSource and purchase materials, supplies, and equipment to meet production and operational requireme ntsPartner with the production team to forecast material needs and prevent supply shorta gesLead supplier negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts to optimize cost and va luePrepare and issue purchase orders and bid reque stsMonitor supplier performance, lead times, and specification complia nceIdentify and resolve defective or non-conforming goods in collaboration with quality control, end users, and vend orsMaintain accurate procurement records including costs, delivery performance, quality, and invent oryStay current on market trends, pricing shifts, and new materials in assigned categor iesBuild and sustain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders and external suppli ers
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING
FOR3+ years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environ mentBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field (prefer red)Proficiency with ERP systems; Oracle experience a plusStrong foundation in strategic sourcing, bidding, contracting, and supplier negotiat ionsProven analytical and cost analysis skills - critical for this roleAbility to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environ mentClear communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external part nersCPP or CSCP certification a plus, but not requ ired
