Job Description

Job Summary The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, and procurement execution to support continuous plant operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring cost-effective, reliable, and compliant sourcing of raw materials, components, MRO items, and services required in an industrial manufacturing environment. The position partners closely with CAPEX, operations, engineering, maintenance, quality, and finance teams. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sourcing strategies for capital projects, direct materials, indirect spend, and MRO in support of manufacturing operations Lead supplier selection, negotiations, contract development, and long-term supplier agreements Manage supplier performance, including delivery, quality, cost, and risk mitigation Collaborate with capital projects, engineering, maintenance, and production teams on specifications, cost reductions, and supply continuity Drive cost savings initiatives through strategic sourcing, value analysis, and demand consolidation Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulatory requirements Monitor market conditions, supplier capacity, and raw material trends to proactively address supply risks Resolve supply disruptions and expedite critical materials as needed to support production schedules Work with accounts payable to resolve supplier invoice issues Maintain accurate procurement data, contracts, and supplier documentation in ERP systems Support inventory optimization initiatives while balancing service levels and working capital Contribute to process improvement initiatives Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field +5 years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment 10+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment in lieu of bachelor's degree Strong negotiation and contract management skills Experience sourcing direct materials, capital equipment, and/or MRO supplies Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar) Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and plant operations Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Preferred Qualifications Professional certification (CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) Experience with cost modeling, should-cost analysis, or value engineering Proven track record of delivering measurable cost savings Experience working with global suppliers and logistics considerations
