Our products consist of New England Coffee, French Market Coffee, Luzianne Iced Tea, Blue Plate Mayonnaise, Swans Down Cake Flour, Tiger Sauce, and Carroll Shelby Chili (to name a few) and can be found in foodservice and retail locations around the country. The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for planning and purchasing various turn-key inventory items from multiple suppliers. Position will analyze on-hand inventory, sales history and forecast demand, place orders with suppliers, monitor and expedite product when required, and manage supplier customer service relationships. Works closely with Supply Chain leadership to understand inventory targets and ordering cadence. Job Duties & Responsibilities Understands basic principles of supplier lead time, inventory days on hand, demand variability and forecasting, and minimum order quantities for best price Reviews current work practices and looks for opportunities to streamline and more effectively manage process Develops a thorough working knowledge of assigned items and associated supplier base as well as working knowledge of required
MRP / ERP
system Creates purchase orders in ERP system and communicates to suppliers Interacts with suppliers to manage portfolio including forecast, ordering, and expediting of material. Analyzes item level sales history and forecast to inform purchasing decisions Monitors and reports key performance metrics, including purchase price variance, inventory, shortages, and supplier performance Interacts with Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Operations teams to manage inventory position and load scheduling Participates and practices BRC rules and regulations. Follow all safety procedures and participate in safety training. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related business field 2+ years of experience with forecasting, replenishment, and purchasing Strong analytical skills with an ability to focus on the details Ability to interact and communicate effectively with personnel at all levels within the organization to obtain, discuss, and analyze information and process Strong interpersonal and exceptional problem-solving skills Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced skills in the use of MS Excel (pivot tables, formula writing) Ability to understand, develop and refine processes Ability to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience with ERP Systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics Willingness and ability to travel 25%
