Senior Sourcing Agent | The Shyft Group (SV) | Charlotte, MI (SV)Regular Employee | Salary Exempt | $95,000.00 - 115,000.00What you'll do:

TheSr. Sourcing Agent position leads strategic procurement initiatives,negotiating high-value contracts and managing supplier relationships to achievecost savings, risk reduction, and operational efficiency. They conduct marketresearch, manage the end-to-end Request for Proposal (RFx) process, and driveValue Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives.

JOBRESPONSIBILITIES

Negotiate complex, high-value contracts to secure favorable pricing, quality, and service levelsAchieve year over year cost reduction targetsDevelops and implements purchasing strategies to optimize cost savings, quality, and delivery of materialsPartner with internal teams (Legal, Finance, Engineering) to align procurement strategies with operational needs, including driving VAVE initiativesEvaluate, select, and manage domestic and international suppliers, as well as monitoring supplier performance, compliance with contracts, and managing the ongoing relationships.

Ensure adherence to procurement policies and reduce supply riskConduct market analysis, understand market trends, and supplier technical roadmaps to anticipate potential risks to the supply chainUnderstand philosophy and tools of lean manufacturingApply formal project management principles to work, as needed, including setting and meeting milestones and expectationsManage relationships with peers at assigned suppliers to effectively mitigate riskLead and support special projects, as neededCommunicate quality and engineering information / requirements to internal and external resources, as requiredUtilize critical thinking to make trade-offs / concessionsResolve major supply disruptions affecting customersSupport continuous improvement objectives, internally and externallyOther tasks as assignedWhat you need to be successful:

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree in Business, Materials Management, Finance, Engineering orOperations Management (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a professional procurement role with exposureto a variety of manufacturing processes and commodities
• Working knowledge of all aspects of business operations, including Finance,Accounting, Legal, Materials Management, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing,etc.
• Basic understanding of prepared financial statements
