A day in the life You start by aligning with Product Managers and VSM leaders on the latest demand outlook. With market intel in hand, you translate forecasts into a metals supply plan spanning stainless and alloy bar, titanium bar, forgings, and related components. Lead times, replenishment windows, and service levels guide every move. Next, you execute the sourcing direction defined by our Strategic Sourcing team for NN Mobile Solutions locations across North America—releasing POs, managing commercial planning, and resolving pricing discrepancies. You drive total cost improvements through creative sourcing levers and supplier collaboration.

Midday brings supplier engagement:

negotiating Metals category contracts, leading QBRs with preferred suppliers, and strengthening partnerships to elevate cost, quality, and delivery. You partner closely with Engineering and technical teams so supplier deliverables align with product development and launch milestones. Before you wrap, you fine-tune the ERP (QAD) supplier master data, track orders, and apply statistical analysis to right-size raw material inventories—reducing excess without risking production commitments. You document progress within our QMS and EMS frameworks and sync with Purchasing teammates to clear roadblocks. What you'll deliver Metals purchasing strategy execution for North American NN Mobile Solutions sites Contract negotiation and category management for stainless/alloy/titanium bars, forgings, and components Supplier partnerships, preferred supplier program, and quarterly business reviews Spend alignment to supply base KPIs, corrective action follow-up, and issue closure Commercial planning, PO release, order tracking, and invoice pricing resolution Cross-functional integration with Engineering and technical teams for NPI and launches Continuous cost, quality, and delivery improvements QAD supplier master maintenance and order efficiency Inventory optimization using statistical methods, balancing availability with cost Adherence to QMS and EMS requirements What you bring Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering—or equivalent industry experience 4+ years in supply management; metals/raw materials industry experience strongly preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) Join a team where initiative is celebrated, ideas become improvements, and your decisions ripple across production floors and customer programs.
