$45,000•$50,000 per year About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Buyer to join our growing automation company. This role goes beyond traditional purchasing—you will play a key part in material flow, supplier coordination, and supporting our build team to ensure production runs smoothly. You'll work closely with operations, engineering, and project management teams while managing supplier relationships and material availability in a fast-paced, technical environment. Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Supplier Management Create and manage purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely supplier acknowledgements Maintain accurate PO delivery dates and track supplier on-time performance Build and manage strong supplier relationships, focusing on cost savings and quality Participate in supplier negotiations and document cost changes Analyze and compare supplier quotes to support purchasing decisions Coordinate new supplier setup and maintain up-to-date supplier records Material & Inventory Management Receive and check in delivered shipments, verifying part numbers, quantities, and condition Distribute materials to appropriate locations for the build team Use ERP systems to track all incoming and received materials Source materials from internal inventory based on bills of materials (BOMs) Manage vendor-managed inventory (VMI), including pulling materials from supplier portals and coordinating restocks Operations Support Work closely with operations to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules Communicate with project managers and engineering teams to resolve sourcing issues and clarify requirements Handle product returns, including obtaining RMAs and determining inventory disposition Resolve receiving discrepancies, invoice issues, and supplier payment concerns Prepare and coordinate domestic shipments Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement Independently research issues and recommend effective solutions Identify opportunities to improve processes, accuracy, and efficiency Qualifications High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred 2+ years of purchasing, materials, or supply chain experience preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience) Basic understanding of purchasing and inventory management processes Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Skills Experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environments Familiarity with BOMs, production environments, and material flow Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required Core Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills High level of integrity and professionalism Reliable, dependable, and team-oriented Work Environment & Physical Requirements Combination of office and shop floor interaction Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the facility as needed Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs Moderate noise level typical of a manufacturing environment Schedule & Benefits Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts 401(k) with company match Health, dental, and vision insurance Why Join Us?
