Job Description

The City of Sterling Heights is seeking an organized and goal-oriented individual to join the Purchasing Office as a Purchasing Coordinator! Pay starting at $41.0256/hr. Pay increases every twelve (12) months and annually on July 1st! Competitive 401(a) employer contribution Medical with a

Position Summary Under the supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Coordinator is a subject matter expert providing oversight and support in the planning, coordinating, and administration of purchasing activities. The Purchasing Coordinator will provide oversight and support in the purchasing of supplies, material, equipment, and services in order to support and enhance the delivery of City services. This individual will maintain a variety of purchasing related files, lists, and forms and will respond to inquiries and provide guidance and information regarding purchasing activities. Minimum Qualific ations Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or other related fields. Minimum of three (3) years of purchasing experience; Municipal purchasing or, procurement experience, or supply chain experience is highly preferred. Desired Certification(s):
NIGP-CPP
