Our expertise includes material handling systems, gravity chutes, mech-light automation, shelving/storage, and complex metal assembly manufacturing. Based in Grand Rapids, MI, Proos serves both local and international clients, providing tailored solutions from initial design to final implementation. We are committed to delivering innovative, efficient, and reliable solutions to meet our clients' unique operational needs. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Buyer based in Grand Rapids, MI. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, negotiating vendor contracts, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. Responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, tracking purchase orders, maintaining detailed records, and optimizing procurement strategies to meet company objectives. The Buyer will also collaborate with various teams to align purchasing goals with business requirements and ensure cost-efficient operations. Qualifications Purchasing, negotiation, and vendor management skills Inventory management and supply chain knowledge Analytical and decision-making skills, with attention to detail Experience with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong organizational and time management abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience in the manufacturing or engineering industry preferred Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field preferred
