Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Supply Chain Buyer/Planner to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will manage procurement activities, coordinate supply chain operations, and ensure the seamless flow of materials to support production and inventory management. Your proactive approach will help optimize sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and maintain strong supplier relationships to meet operational goals. Duties Develop and execute procurement plans by sourcing materials efficiently through ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, or Oracle EBS. Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts that maximize value while ensuring quality standards are met. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production planning teams to maintain optimal stock levels using materials management and MRP systems. Manage purchase orders from creation to delivery, ensuring timely fulfillment and resolving any supply issues promptly. Analyze supply chain data to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation within logistics and inventory control. Support logistics operations by coordinating transportation schedules and tracking shipments via ERP platforms like AS400 or other supply chain management tools. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier performance, and contract details to ensure compliance and transparency. Requirements Proven experience working with ERP systems such as
SAP, SAP ERP, JD
Edwards, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of materials management, procurement processes, and supply chain management principles. Familiarity with inventory management techniques including MRP (Material Requirements Planning), inventory control, and logistics coordination. Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build productive supplier relationships. Ability to analyze data related to pricing strategies, production planning, and merchandising to inform decision-making. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments including purchasing, production planning, logistics, and finance. Prior experience in e-commerce environments or working with contracts is a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Note:
Must follow all work rules and policies 55% Scheduling and Planning. Analyze data, production specifications and plant capacity data to determine manufacturing processes and tool requirements. Confer with department management to determine status of production. Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times. Prepare schedule to establish sequence and lead-time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders. Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Follow and monitor all orders to completion according to ship dates. 25% Procurement and Purchasing. Prepares and enters purchase orders using computer terminal to purchase material to support production schedule and inventory targets. 20% Inventory Control. Monitors average weekly usage figures and revise as required. Analyze and update safety stock and minimum inventory levels needed to meet customer demand and changes in lead times from suppliers.

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from an accredited institution in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred. Four years related experience and/or training in manufacturing, production planning, or procurement role. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Strong understanding of supply chain principles and materials management. Familiarity with inventory control, purchasing processes, and production scheduling.
